Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 July 2026

SplitCam is a dual camera recording app for iPhone. This policy explains, plainly, what happens to your data when you use it.

The short version: your video and photos never leave your device unless you choose to share them. There is no SplitCam account, and we cannot see your footage.

What stays on your device

Everything you record.

SplitCam captures both cameras, composes them into your chosen layout and writes the result to your device. All of this happens locally, using Apple's camera and video frameworks. Your recordings are never uploaded to SplitCam, and we have no way to access them.

When you tap Share, iOS hands your video to whichever app you pick: Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, Photos, and so on. From that point the receiving app's own privacy policy applies. SplitCam is not part of that transfer and does not keep a copy.

Permissions we ask for, and why

PermissionWhy SplitCam needs it
CameraTo record video from the front and back cameras. This is the app's entire purpose; without it SplitCam cannot function.
MicrophoneTo record audio alongside your video. You can choose the front mic, the back mic, or both.
Photos (add only)To save your finished recording to your photo library when you ask it to. SplitCam requests add-only access, so it cannot read the photos you already have.

You can review or withdraw any of these at any time in Settings → SplitCam on your iPhone. Withdrawing camera or microphone access will stop SplitCam from recording.

Diagnostics

SplitCam collects anonymous crash reports and basic usage diagnostics so we can find and fix bugs: for example, which layout was active when the app crashed, your iOS version, and your device model.

This data is not linked to your identity, contains no video, audio or images, and is never sold. If you would rather not send it, turn off Share iPhone Analytics in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements on your iPhone.

Purchases

SplitCam Pro is an in-app purchase handled entirely by Apple. Payment is processed by the App Store. SplitCam never sees your card details, billing address or Apple ID. We receive only an anonymous receipt confirming that a purchase is valid, which is what unlocks Pro features on your device.

What we do not do

  • We do not upload, store or view your recordings.
  • We do not require an account, an email address or a phone number.
  • We do not track you across other apps or websites.
  • We do not sell or share personal data with advertisers or data brokers.
  • We do not use your footage to train machine-learning models.

Children

SplitCam is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because the app records only to your device and requires no account, there is no personal data for us to collect in the first place.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data held about you, for example under the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR, or the CCPA.

In practice, SplitCam holds no personal data about you: there is no account, and your recordings never reach us. Deleting the app removes its data from your device. If you would like to exercise a right anyway, or you simply want to ask what we hold, email us and we will answer.

Changes to this policy

If the app's data handling changes, whether that is a new permission, a new network call or a new SDK, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
